Wake Up Shake Up
Dynamic Breathwork
with Simon Rowe

Come enjoy Simon’s ‘Wake up - Shake Up’ Saturday morning sessions to experience the immediate effects of Dynamic Breathwork, a great way to start your day!

This form of breathwork-in-flow is practiced during dynamic movement sequences and is a total reset for your body, energy and mind. Most of the exercises and sequences combine fluid, dynamic movements with deep harmonious breath patterns. Opening exercises may include shake and tension release to facilitate breath release. The breathwork sequences are offered intelligently, with moments between exercises for grounding, integration and balancing. Dynamic Breathwork brings about a sublime feeling of pure energetic awakening as well as a deep harmony between body, mind and breath. The Saturday morning sessions end with guided relaxation, mantra and sacred sound.

Why move during breath-work?

What most people think of as breathwork are the recently popularised methods of practice that are practiced sitting still or lying down. This is where Dynamic Breathwork is totally different! We use movement to release tension and to create space for the breath. Different movement patterns direct breath and Prana – life force - to specific parts of the body. Breath and movement sequences are done to balance and harmonise the energy body (koshas, vayus and chakras). Ride the waves of Prana as you move from the energy of breath. Feel the pulse of the life force in every cell of your body!

Benefits of combining breath and movement:

  • Physical activity releases endorphins, and when combined with breathwork, it can lead to a more pronounced improvement in mood and emotional well-being.

  • Synchronizing breath with movement improves body awareness and coordination, benefiting daily activities and physical performance.

  • Active breathwork strengthens the diaphragm and intercostal muscles more effectively than passive breathing, enhancing lung capacity and efficiency.

  • Movement helps clear mental fog and improve focus, making it easier to achieve a state of mindfulness.

  • Dynamic breathwork incorporates stretching and movement, which can improve flexibility and joint mobility more effectively than static practices.

  • Movement increases heart rate and circulation, helping to transport oxygen more efficiently to muscles and organs.

  • Dynamic breathwork can help alleviate pain through improved circulation and the release of tension in the body.

  • Movement helps to increase metabolic rate, aiding in weight management and overall metabolic health.

For every body

A Dynamic breathwork session can be done as a practice on its’ own or as a preparation for Yoga. The practices can also be integrated into a Yoga sequence as a way of cultivating a deeper breath connection during practice. These breathwork practices are very accessible and are suitable for people with injuries, physical limitations as well as for seniors. And it can be done anywhere, without the need for mats or props.

Background

Dynamic Breathwork practice is inspired by the breath based teachings of Qigong, Kriya Yoga, Prana Vinyasa as well as Shake meditation and T.R.E. (tension release exercises) Dynamic breathwork is a dynamic form of ‘energy work’ and is the basis of all of Simon’s teachings on Yoga and movement meditation. He has included his teachings on Dynamic Breathwork during his classes, workshops and teacher trainings for more than 10 years.
